This past weekend, Sept. 26-28, we were in Red Deer, AB for the RC Pro Alberta Final. On one of the roughest and dustiest tracks we have ever been on, Ty wheeled his D8, tq'ing 3 of the 4 rounds. The HB D8 combined with AKA tires were the combination needed to take Ty to the win in the A main. At Least 8 out of the 12 drivers in the A main were running AKA tires.

Tessman TQ's the Manufacturer's Cup!
August 2, 2008
AKA's Ty Tessman puts in another strong performance this past weekend at the Manufacturers Cup. After 3 rounds of qualifying Ty proved that his performance a few weeks earlier at the Pre Worlds race in North Carolina was not just a one race wonder. Ty put his Hot Bodies buggy on pole against some of the toughest competition. Ty used the yellow (Hard) City Block's in the front and yellow (Hard) I Beam's in the rear with AKA's proprietary foam and AKA's lightweight wheels. Ty finished a strong 3rd overall in the 1/8 buggy class. Ty and his family have been working hard over the years and it is really starting to show.

AKA Tires TQ and Win the Kyosho Masters!
June 22, 2008
Kyosho driver and MP9 designer Youichi Kanai TQ'ed the 10th Annual Kyosho Masters race held at Sucy-en-Brie, France, and Adrien Bertin won the final - both using AKA tires. Kanai set the fast pace with his AKA I-Beam equipped MP9, taking TQ and looking to be the man to beat, but he was sidelined in the semifinal by a broken steering linkage. Bertin, running an Orion-powered 777 also with I-Beam tires, won the A final against some very skilled international off-road drivers. Both performances highlight the performance potential of the new AKA tires, which represent the pinnacle of off-road racing tire technology.

Cody King sweeps the Tri-State Off-Road Championship
May 18, 2008
Kyosho/AKA driver Cody King swept both expert buggy and truggy classes at the Tri-State Off-Road Championship. Hosted by Radical Racers in El Paso, TX, the race is fundraising event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Inspired by local racer Corbyn Showers, who is affected by MD, Father/mechanic Paul King and Cody traveled to Texas to support Corbyn and the event after meeting him at the Nitro Challenge in Arizona. Kyosho also donated an ST-RR kit as a raffle prize to generate additional contributions. Cody King and his Mother helped to sell raffle tickets to generate as much revenue as possible, raising a total of $1050 from just the ST-RR kit. In his first outing with the AKA tires, wheels and unique inserts, King fought a hard battle with Ryan Maifield in the buggy class, but ended up unchallenged at the end when Maifield retired due to mechanical troubles. King TQ’d and also won the truggy class driving a Sirio-powered ST-RR in front of three other ST-RR trucks. Congratulations and thanks to Cody King and family for such an awesome performance, and for their enthusiastic support of such a worthwhile charity.
